As we grow up and form knowledge about the world we are unknowingly being framed to act and live in a certain way.
The process of framing is undertaken through Selection and Salience. Selection and salience use various bits of information, when you put them together they create a perceived reality.
Framing is essentially based off popular opinions or ideas.
If we took the news media outlets for example you may be influenced by the reporting depending on who is presenting the news as the content can change influencing the way you perceive events.
Take for instance American news. When Donald Trump holds a press conference Fox News will showcase all of the positive things Trump is saying and supporting his views whilst from the very same event CNN will take every opportunity to discredit him.
This is a prime example of how news and information frame our understanding of the world.
